Converted to High Speed Minesweeper DMS-26 on the 15th November 1944.  Sunk in collision with Aircraft Carrier USS Wasp (CV 16) in the North Atlantic 26th April 1952.  Hobson was struck amidships, rolled over, broke in two and sank, 176 of her crew were lost.
